If you are walking out of LEGOLAND without this under your arm, you made a mistake. It is the best souvenir in the park and it is not close.

Best For: Anyone leaving a LEGOLAND park

We went to LEGOLAND New York. On the way out, StudSon spotted set 40346 in the shop. It is a 1,336-piece recreation of a LEGOLAND theme park, complete with a roller coaster, a pirate skull ride, a dragon coaster, the iconic park entrance, and 10 minifigures. He started to beg. StudMom and StudDad looked at each other and smiled. He barely got two words out before we said yes.

Some purchases are obvious. This was one of them.

The Build Experience

1,336 pieces is a serious build, but LEGO structured it well. Each attraction comes in its own instruction booklet so you can split the work across the family or across multiple sessions. We built it in sections, which kept it from ever feeling like a slog. The difficulty sits somewhere in the middle. Nothing technically demanding, but enough going on that it stays engaging throughout. It is a genuinely good family build, the kind where multiple people can be working at the same time without getting in each other’s way.

The play features built into each section are worth noting. The rides actually do things. The skull pirate ride has a rotating gear mechanism. The roller coaster tracks are a real track. The dragon coaster has a physical presence that photographs well and plays even better. LEGO put effort into making this feel like a functioning park, not just a display piece.

StudDad’s Take

$99.99 is not cheap. But this is not a normal set. It is a park-exclusive souvenir tied to a day you actually spent at LEGOLAND. The price lands differently in that context. You just paid admission, you just spent a full day there, and now you are being offered 1,336 pieces of a set you cannot get anywhere else for a hundred dollars. That math works.

What makes it worth the price is not just the piece count. It is the detail. The LEGOLAND New York entrance sign is on there. The specific attractions from the park are represented. This set is a memory of the trip, not just another box. If my kid is going to beg for something on the way out of a theme park, I would much rather it be this than a stuffed animal that ends up in a closet.

It never goes on sale. You are not getting 20% off. You buy it at $99.99 or you do not buy it. Given what you get, that is a fair deal.

StudSon’s Take

He spotted it in the shop and wanted it immediately. He started to make his case. He did not need to. Both parents said yes before he got very far into it, which caught him off guard in the best possible way. He has been playing with it since we got home. The pirate skull ride and the dragon coaster are his favorites. He has been running minifigures through the park attractions like it is an actual operating theme park. He gave it 10 out of 10 with nothing held back.

Should You Buy It?

If you are going to any LEGOLAND park, yes. This is the one thing to buy on the way out. It does not go on sale, it is not available anywhere else at retail, and the only way to get it without a markup is to walk through a LEGOLAND entrance yourself. If you can do that, do not leave without it.

If you cannot get to a park, the LEGOLAND online shop does carry it but shipping costs are real. The secondary market on eBay has it marked up considerably since the set has been out for a while. Going in person is the right move.

StudMom, who has strong opinions about what is and is not worth buying on the way out of a theme park, called it the perfect souvenir. That is the endorsement that matters.

✅ Verdict: Buy It
1,336 pieces, 10 minifigs, a working pirate ride, and a roller coaster. The best thing in the LEGOLAND gift shop and one of the better builds we have done as a family. Walk out of that park with it.

Can’t get to a park? Third-party sellers have it on Amazon but expect to pay a premium. The LEGOLAND shop is the better option if shipping is reasonable to you.
