About StudSource

A LEGO-obsessed dad and son with one job: tell you whether a set is actually worth buying. Real verdicts, real money spent, no freebies, no sponsored sets, no fluff.

StudDad StudSon

StudSource is a LEGO deal site run by a dad and his son. That is it. No brand deals, no free sets, no sponsored content, no PR packages. StudDad buys the sets with his own money, StudSon builds them, and we tell you honestly whether they are worth buying.

What We Actually Do

We track LEGO deals across major retailers and tell you which ones are worth acting on and which ones are dressed-up non-sales. We review sets we have actually built and give them a real verdict: Buy It, Wait for a Sale, Buy Before It’s Gone, or Skip It. We do not hedge. We pick one and we explain why.

The People Behind It

StudDad has strong opinions about price-per-piece ratios, design compromises, and whether a set earns its shelf space. He is not easily impressed. He appreciates good engineering and has no patience for sets that coast on licensing. If something is overpriced he will tell you, even if StudSon loves it.

StudSon is nine years old, turning ten, and has not yet been let down by the world. He builds every set we review, rates them out of ten, and gives his honest take on play value, swooshability, and whether it is actually fun once the last brick is placed. His scores are generous. His enthusiasm is real.

StudMom weighs in when she has something to say, which is more often than StudDad expects. She notices things we miss.

Why Trust Us

We are not sponsored by LEGO or any retailer. We do not receive free sets. Every opinion on this site comes from spending our own money on sets we chose to buy. Some links are affiliate links, which means we earn a small commission if you buy through them at no extra cost to you. That commission helps fund the next set we review. Our verdicts are never influenced by it.
