May the 4th 2026: Your Complete LEGO Star Wars Day Deal Guide

Every year, LEGO fans mark one date above everything else: May the 4th. This is not just a Star Wars pun. For collectors and deal hunters, it is legitimately the best LEGO sale event of the year — stacked gift-with-purchase offers, VIP point multipliers, and new exclusives dropping all at once. StudDad circles this one on the calendar every year.

When Does It Start?

First pro tip: if you are a LEGO Insiders member (free to join), you get Early Access starting May 1st at midnight ET — three full days before general access on May 4th. Gift-with-purchase quantities are limited and go fast. If you are not an Insiders member yet, sign up at LEGO.com before April 30th.

The full promotion runs May 1 through May 6, 2026. Everything below is live at the official LEGO Star Wars Day page: lego.com/en-us/page/star-wars-day-deals

Three Tiers of Free Sets — Stack Them All

This is where May the 4th earns its reputation. LEGO is running three separate gift-with-purchase offers that can all be triggered on a single order. Here is how to hit every tier:

Tier 1: Buy the N-1 Starfighter, Get a Free Display Set

LEGO The Mandalorian's N-1 Starfighter 75442

Pick up The Mandalorian’s N-1 Starfighter (75442) and LEGO adds the Mandalorian and Grogu Display set (5010320) to your order for free — a $19.99 value. This one is a no-brainer if the N-1 was already on your radar. Gorgeous build, and the freebie display set is a perfect shelf companion.

Tier 2: Hit $160 in Star Wars, Unlock the Darksaber

LEGO The Darksaber 40917

Spend $160 or more on Star Wars merchandise and LEGO throws in The Darksaber (40917), a $29.99 set, completely free. If you are buying the N-1 Starfighter, you are already getting this. If not a fan of the N-1, mix and match (or get that Sail Barge) and pick this up.

Tier 3: Any $40+ Qualifying Order Gets the Razor Crest Mini

The easiest entry point: spend $40 or more on qualifying Star Wars sets and grab the Razor Crest Mini-Build (30728) for free. A fun little desk build that holds you over until the full-size Razor Crest ships.

Stack strategy: One order, all three GWPs. Buy the N-1 Starfighter set to cross $160, and your cart automatically gets the Display Set, the Darksaber, AND the Razor Crest Mini added for free. That is nearly $55 in free sets on a single checkout.

4x VIP Points on UCS Sets — Including the One StudDad Has Been Waiting For

LEGO Jabba's Sail Barge 75397

Several Ultimate Collector Series sets are earning 4x LEGO VIP points during the promotion window. That is a significant deal — VIP points convert to real discounts on future purchases, and stacking them on high-ticket UCS sets is how savvy LEGO fans lower the effective price of everything that comes after.

The big one: Jabba’s Sail Barge (75397) — 3,942 pieces of pure Star Wars glory. This has been at the top of StudDad’s list since it was announced, and the May the 4th window is the optimal moment to pull the trigger. Here is why this is the time: the set is marked for retirement on December 31, 2026. That means this is one of the last major sale events before it disappears from shelves permanently. After that, secondary market prices take over. StudDad is not waiting.

Also earning 4x points during the event:

  • TIE Interceptor (75382) — 1,931 pieces
  • AT-ST Walker (75417) — 1,513 pieces

New Sets Dropping for the Event

LEGO is also using May the 4th as the launch window for several new sets worth knowing about:

  • New Republic X-Wing Starfighter (75460) — $69.99 — available now
  • The Razor Crest (75447) — $149.99 — pre-order open
  • Grogu: Mandalorian Apprentice (75446) — $129.99 — pre-order open

The Razor Crest and Grogu sets are both pre-orders, meaning you can lock them in at the promotional GWP threshold and still qualify for the free gifts even before they ship.

The Rakuten Move — Do Not Skip This

Every year, Rakuten runs a significant cash back bonus timed to the May the 4th LEGO event. In past years the cash back rate on LEGO.com has spiked dramatically during this exact window. If you are shopping LEGO.com without Rakuten activated, you are leaving real money behind on an already expensive cart.

Sign Up for Rakuten Here

New members get a welcome bonus on top of the regular cash back rate. Setup takes about two minutes and it stacks on top of every GWP and VIP points deal listed above. There is genuinely no downside here.

StudDad’s Game Plan

Here is exactly how StudDad is attacking this one on May 1st at midnight:

  1. Insiders Early Access opens at midnight ET on May 1st — alarm is set
  2. Activate Rakuten in the browser before touching the LEGO.com cart
  3. Add N-1 Starfighter (75442) & Jabba’s Sail Barge (75397) to cart
  4. Check out – go back to sleep

So here is the full picture on what buying the N-1 Starfighter and Jabba’s Sail Barge together actually gets you. All three GWPs unlock in a single order: the Mandalorian and Grogu Display ($19.99 value) for buying the N-1, the Darksaber ($29.99 value) for crossing the $160 threshold (a $750 cart does that with zero effort), and the Razor Crest Mini-Build ($4.99 value) just for having $40+ in qualifying Star Wars sets. That is $54.97 in free sets added to your cart automatically.

Then there are the points. LEGO Insiders earns 6.5 points per dollar at standard rate, and 650 points converts to $5 in vouchers. The Sail Barge at 4x multiplier alone generates roughly 13,000 points. Add the N-1 at standard rate and the order totals around 14,600 points — worth approximately $112 in future LEGO store credit. Stack Rakuten cash back on top of that and the effective cost of both sets together drops well under $600.

Two incredible sets, $54 in free bonus builds, $112 in vouchers, Rakuten cash back (TBD), and Jabba’s Sail Barge finally on the shelf where it belongs. StudDad calls that a win.

If StudSon asks why there are more brown boxes on the doorstep this week, StudDad was doing research.
